The Quilt and Craft weekend held July 16-17 was a great success, especially on Sunday afternoon when the hall was full to overflowing. £326.63 was donated to church funds.
On Sunday afternoon (July3rd) we were privileged to have Deacon Ray Fox and his wife Ann take part in a special service as part of our 190th. year celebrations, It is some 8 years since Ray left our circuit for a ‘quiet’ life as a minister in North London, very different from the hustle and bustle of North Lincolnshire. He has since returned north, living in Keighley and being near to hand he readily agreed to hold a service for us.
The service was preceded by a bring and share tea giving plenty of time to catch up with old friends and news before moving into the chapel for the service.
To mark the occasion Ray and Ann brought along two new songs, one based on Psalm 148 ‘O Praise Him, praise the Lord our God’ written by Ann, the other ‘Eyes of the Moon’ co-written by Ann and Ray and only completed days before the performance. Both were wonderful, the music group had been practicing before the service and accompanied Ann’s keyboard, Ann led the singing with the congregation joining in.
